Minnesota Junior Holstein Show 2016
The 2016 Minnesota State Junior Holstein Show was held on June 23, 2016 in Rochester, Minnesota at the Olmstead County Fairgrounds. Judge Lynn Harbaugh placed 72 heifers and 34 cows for a grand total of 106 head in the junior show.
Junior Champion of the show was awarded to the first place Summer Yearling, Butlerview Door Glow-ET, exhibited by Ryan and Abby Haberman. First place Winter Senior Yearling, Sunnylodge Greenland Leona, exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome and Darian Stransky, was honored as Reserve Junior Champion. Honorable Mention was awarded to the first place Spring Junior Yearling, Wallmac Hztr Hop Mia-Red-ET, exhibited by Ashley and Andy Gruenes.
Intermediate Champion honors were awarded to first place Junior Two-Year-Old, Jacobs Windbrook Delay-ET, exhibited by Cory Schmidt. Terra-Mccree Coincidence, second place Junior Two-Year-Old was selected as Reserve Intermediate Champion, exhibited by Meghan Connelly.
Cleland Absolute Coleen-Red, first place Aged Cow, exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome, and Darian Stransky was selected as Senior Champion. Reserve Senior Champion honors were presented to the first place Four-Year-Old, JK- Stranshome Atwood Sarina, exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome, and Darian Stransky.
Grand Champion honors of the Junior Show were awarded to Senior Champion, Cleland Absolute Coleen-Red, exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome, and Darian Stransky. Reserve champion honors were presented to Intermediate Champion, Jacobs Windbrook Delay-ET, exhibited by Cory Schmidt.
The show was concluded by friendly showmanship competitions in the junior (ages 14 and younger) and senior (ages 15-21) divisions. Judge Harbaugh awarded Calvin Bening the Junior Showmanship Champion. Chandler Bening took home Reserve Junior Showmanship honors. Senior showmanship champion was Haely Leiding and Kathrine Thompson was reserve.
