2015 Minnesota State Holstein Show

The 2015 Minnesota State Show was held at the Nobles County Fairgrounds in Worthington, Minn. on Friday, June 19 2015. Joel Phoenix was the official judge for the show and placed 100 heifers and 77 cows for a total of 177 head.

Junior Champion was awarded to the first place spring yearling, Jacobs Windbrook Delay-ET exhibited by Corey Schmidt. Reserve junior champion honors were awarded to Strans-Tola Dundee Lisa Rae, the first place fall heifer calf. Receiving honorable mention honors for junior champion was the second place spring yearling, OCD Gold Chip Eloise-ET, exhibited by Anthony Kohls.

Judge Phoenix selected the first place senior three-year old, Richman Atwood Shasta R1142, exhibited by Alex M. Hanten and Milky Way Dairy as Intermediate champion. Reserve intermediate champion honors were awarded to Miss Alabama-Red-ET, the second place senior three-year old, exhibited by Reid Stransky & Westcoast Holsteins. Honorable mention intermediate champion honors were given to Stranshome Rlou Spot On-ET, exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome & Darian Stransky.

Senior champion was awarded to the first place four-year old Liddlehome-Y H G Rae-ET, exhibited by Reid Stransky & T & L Cattle LTD. Reserve senior champion was presented to the first place aged cow Oakfield-Bro Jasp Fantom-ET exhibited by Reid Stransky & T & L Cattle LTD. Donfield Goldwyn Admire, the first place five-year old, exhibited by Al-Shar Hoslteins & Donfield Farms received honorable mention senior champion.

For grand champion judge Phoenix selected the senior champion, Liddlehome-Y H G Rae-ET, exhibited by Reid Stransky & T & L Cattle LTD. Reserve grand and Best Udder of the show was awarded to the reserve senior champion Oakfield-Bro Jasp Fantom-ET exhibited by Reid Stransky & T & L Cattle LTD. Honorable mention was awarded to the intermediate champion Richman Atwood Shasta R1142, exhibited by Alex M. Hanten and Milky Way Dairy. Best bred and owned went to the third place five-year old Lida-Acres Damion Allie, exhibited by Gregory B. Johnson. Reserve bred and owned went to the first place junior three-year old Stranshome Rlou Spot-on-ET exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome & Darian Stransky.

The premier breeder of the 2015 Minnesota State Holstein show was awarded to Demmer Farms, of Ellendale, Minn. Premier Exhibitor was awarded to Joseph, Zach, Jerome & Darian Stransky of Owatanna, Minn. Congratulations to all exhibitors and thank you to all volunteers who made this event possible. The 2016 State Show will be held in Rochester Minn.
