The 2015 Minnesota State Junior Holstein Show was held on June 18th, 2015 in Worthington, Minn. at the Nobles County Fairgrounds. Judge Roger Turner placed over 100 head of Holsteins exhibited by Junior Holstein members from across the state.
Junior Champion of the show was awarded to the first place fall heifer calf, Ms Stranshome Timber-Red- ET, exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome and, Darian Stransky. First place summer yearling, SL-Acers Absolute Jana-Red, exhibited by Jacob Schaefer and Quentin Scott, took the honors of reserve junior champion.
Intermediate Champion honors went to the first place junior-three year old Stranshome Rlou Spot On-ET exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome and, Darian Stransky. Roseview MN Advent Alison, the first place senior-three year old exhibited by Rebecca Rosenhammer was named Reserve Intermediate Champion.
Senior Champion honors went to the first place aged cow, Dardel Dundee Tiara O-TW, exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome and, Darian Stransky. The second place aged cow, Stranshome Demo Katina was named Reserve Senior Champion. She was also exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome and, Darian Stransky. Grand Champion honors of the show were awarded to the Senior Champion, Dardel Dundee Tiara O-TW.
The Intermediate Champion, Stranshome Rlou Spot On-ET was presented the Reserve Grand Champion honors. Both cows exhibited by Joseph, Zach, Jerome and, Darian Stransky. The show was concluded by friendly showmanship competitions in the junior (ages 14 and younger) and senior (ages 15-21) divisions.
Judge Turner awarded Arnie Gruenes the junior showmanship champion. Nathan Popp took home reserve junior showmanship honors. Senior showmanship champion was Amy-Jo VanderWal and Kelsey Ristau was reserve.
